starting anything new requires energy. it takes thought, effort and follow-through. there are always a millions reasons not to, and sometimes nervosity gets the better of you. sometimes you book onto a new class and then don't feel like it at the point of getting off the sofa and leaving the house. but you always come home feeling sooo much better than when you left and as a result, were so glad you came (and you remind 'future you', if i don't ever feel like it at the time, i am going to ignore that voice and simply head over).
you don't need confidence to start something new. you only need a moment of courage. a leap of faith. conviction that the reasons matter. it may not always feel easy, but Beyond the discomfort, growth occurs. when our weekly habits support the change we want to become, we level up and reach a whole new potential .
my faqs aim to answer some of the most common questions i am asked by those coming to their first ever yoga class. for the rest, sometimes we overthink it. keep it simple: book it, arrive and unroll your yoga mat. the purpose of yoga birds is to provide a warm, welcoming and inviting space, where all ability, ages, shapes and sizes can restore their wellbeing in a non judgemental, safe space. sounds cheesy? i don't think so. i think it sounds very refreshing. if you're tired, lie down the minute that mat finishes unrolling and close your eyes (no-one will think you rude). if you want to chat instead, do that. no forced small talk, no awkward, no competition and no comparison. i have spare equipment on the days you can't even remember what you're doing! no picture perfect instagram poses here, just kindness and freedom, and a whole load of peace and unfolding.
here's me showing you the hall space and showing you me, for those that find that helpful. see, i'm not that scary!
see you there my friend! let's do this.
